What 10Gb connection options do I have? |

The HP 6120XG switch has 8 10G SFP+ interfaces including a dual personality (CX4 or SFP+ interface ). Each port will connect to an SR or LR or LRM transceiver or a Direct attached cable (DAC) thus offering choice and flexibility. The transceivers must be purchased through HP. Third party DACs are also supported from any vendor but are not guaranteed to work. |

Can I use any brand of SFP+ transceivers? |

No. The HP 6120XG will support only HP or HP SFP+ transceivers. Any other transceiver installed will result in a port failure. |

Can I use any brand of Direct Attached Cables? |

Use of HP DACs are recommended with the HP 6120XG switch, however, third party DACs are also allowed.. |

Can the 10G SFP+ ports work at 1G speeds? |

Yes. Gig SFP transceivers can be used in 10G SFP+ ports allowing for gradual migration from Gig to 10G |

Do I need to purchase any special mezzanine card to use this switch? |

No. The switch will operate in interconnect Bays 1&2 without any additional NICs or Mezzanine cards. To add additional switches into any other interconnect-bay, use any of the currently available 10Gb Flex-10 or FlexFabric Mezzanine cards. Please note that the NC512m mezzanine is not a compatible adapter. |
