- Each library installation will require, (1) library system, (1) geographically specific
power cord, (1) differential SCSI cable for each DLT drive pair, and up to 10 pieces of
DLT media with bar code labels for each TL891DLX. Multiple configurations will require
additional pass-through kits.
- The minimum orderable configuration consists of a single library system (for instances
where customer already has the necessary SCSI cables, power cord, and media).
- Installation services may also be ordered for customers who want to have a certified
Compaq Engineer perform an on-site library installation.

- The StorageWorks™ TL 891DLX DLT MiniLibrary by Compaq offers 800GB (2:1
compression) of storage in a 4U Table Top or Rack configuration.
- The StorageWorks TL891DLX is scalable to upto 6 units is a Rackmount
configuration to provide a maximum of 7.2 TB (2:1 compression) of data backup capacity ·
- The StorageWorks TL891DLX is qualified with Windows NT & Windows 2000,
NetWare, Tru64™ UNIX and OpenVMS, as well as Compaq’s ProLiant and
AlphaServer product lines.

| The TL891DLX base unit can support up to two
DLT 40/80GB drives, offering up to 12 MB/s of native backup performance. With 10 data
cartridges, the TL891DLX base unit offers 800 GB of compressed storage capacity in a small
4U height. |

| MiniLibrary Expansion Unit |
| The MiniLibrary Expansion Unit assumes
control over all attached TL891DLX modules, allowing for the creation of a multi-module
virtual library in a single rack mount configuration. It also provides an additional 1.28
TB (2:1 Compression) of capacity (no drives). The Expansion Unit supports up to (5) five
additional modules in a single rack mount configuration. With the use of a special
pass-through mechanism, all tapes within this multi-module configuration are available to
all DLT drives, making a single virtual library. This true scalability of performance
and capacity allows the end user the opportunity to configure the device to meet their
specific requirements, as well as offers a "‘pay as you grow" solution for
easy capital management. The multi-unit configuration can also be disassembled at any time
and each module redeployed independently to meet changing corporate backup strategies. |

| The MiniLibrary Data Unit is a 16-cartridge
slot rack mount module, which provides for additional capacity (up to 1.28 TB of 2: 1
compressed storage) in a TL891DLX multi-module configuration. |

| Proven DLT Technology |
| Digital Linear Tape uses a proven linear
recording technology, a highly accurate tape guide system, and a read after write LZ
correction system to provide high-capacity, high reliability data backup and restoration.
DLT has fast become the industry-standard secondary storage tape format for departmental
and enterprise backup. The Compaq 40/80 DLT drives used in the TL891DLX can read previous
versions of DLT cartridges (DLT tape IV, DLT tape IIIxt and DLT tape III). |

| The TL891DLX library configurations are fully
supported through Compaq Insight Manager 4.90 and Compaq TSMC V1.2 (tape storage
management console), providing information to administrators for both robotic and tape
status changes. Other data and automation manageability features are provided via specific
third party applications software packages. |
