| Q1. |
How does the Oracle Integration feature in HP Replication Solutions Manager work? |
| A1. |
As an option to HP StorageWorks Business Copy EVA Software, the user can simply replicate an Oracle database. HP Replication Solutions Manager will provide a graphical interface to view the components of the database to be replicated, and allow selection of a specified database. The replication manager will automatically suspend the Oracle application, and take a point in time copy (local or remote) of all associated array virtual disks. The replication manager will provide the option to restart the original Oracle database after the replicas have been initiated on the array. The user will be able to utilize the replication manager to present the replica to another host. |

| Q2. |
What is HP Replication Solutions Manager? |
| A2. |
Replication Solutions Manager is provided with HP StorageWorks Continuous Access EVA Software and Business Copy EVA Software offering a fully integrated feature set for both. By integrating management of these two key replication technologies, users achieve a significant improvement in ease of management. The replication manager is based on a simple “one click, no manual” premise where users can quickly and easily use advanced replication functionality with little more than a few clicks. This enables greater business agility so enterprises can leverage replicas beyond the traditional back-up and recovery to enhance business operations. |

| Q3. |
What does Cross Vraid support mean? |
| A3. |
It allows customers to take a Snapshot of a volume and provide the option to keep the RAID set the same, or present it as a different RAID type. A very useful feature for customers, who take advantage of HP FATA drive offering, in that you can maintain higher data value Snapshots RAID levels on more expensive online Fibre Channel drives while keeping lower value data in more cost effective RAID levels in low-cost HP FATA drives. |
 |
| Q4. |
What does the integrated scheduler do? |
| A4. |
It provides a way for users to define when and how often they want their backup jobs scheduled, automatically. The scheduler also can be configured to keep a set of up to 16 replicas available based on time period, by automatically deleting the oldest and creating a new one. |

| Q5. |
What if I increase the number of disks in my array and want to use HP StorageWorks Business Copy EVA Software to replicate a larger amount of storage? |
| A5. |
If you replicated more than 1TB, then you would need to purchase the Upgrade to Unlimited license if the customer has the 1TB license. |
 |
| Q6. |
What if the customer wants to make multiple copies of the same volume- does this count towards the total capacity licensed? |
| A6. |
You can take multiple Snapshots (up to the EVA limit) of a single volume and the capacity is calculated by using just the RAID capacity of the source(s) volume. |

| Q7. |
Why do I order the HP Replications Solutions Manager CD kit for HP StorageWorks Business Copy EVA Software? |
| A7. |
Since HP Replication Solutions Manager is the interface for both HP Business Copy EVA and HP Continuous Access EVA, HP has created a single media kit to support both products. |
 |
| Q8. |
How does Replication Solutions Manager compare to competitor products? |
| A8. |
Replication Solutions Manager (replication manager) is superior to other products available in many ways. First, it offers an extremely robust feature set that uses Wizards, a job engine and host integration to automate and simplify replication tasks. Now with the addition of the new Interactive Topology Manager, replication manager enhances its capabilities well beyond other vendor’s solutions. Second, it integrates both local and remote replication into one management interface. This blends these key replication capabilities into one so users can manage the full environment quicker and most cost effectively. Lastly, Replication Solutions Manager is included as part of both Business Copy EVA Software and Continuous Access EVA Software. HP includes all of the functionality needed to make the most of your storage and the competitive price as compared to some other vendors who charge additional for management GUIs less functional than replication manager. |

| Q9. |
Can I upgrade HP StorageWorks Business Copy EVA Software between the EVA4000/6000/8000 series? |
| A9. |
There are reduced cost license upgrades available for most model upgrade scenarios. Please see the ordering section of the HP Business Copy EVA quickspecs. |
 |
| Q10. |
What is the 3-phase Snapclone for? |
| A10. |
This is an added capability to the EVA3000 and EVA5000 and is for users who need increased speed of Snapclone creation and make frequent copies of the same source Vdisk. The three phase Snapclone process allows for the pre-allocation of a container where the Snapclone will be placed and further minimizes any application impacts. Storage Administrators have increased flexibility when creating Snapclones through the choice of the unique space efficient Snapclone where space is automatically reserved, or the three phase process that improves performance by pre-allocating storage space. |
 |
| Q11. |
How is MirrorClone different than Snapclone? |
| A11. |
The major differences are: 1) A Snapclone is available instantly while it normalizes in the background as opposed to the MirrorClone that is pre-normalized, and 2) A MirrorClone has the ability to maintain its relationship with the source volume which allows it the ability to update quickly by only copying the changed data. |
 |
| Q12. |
What is so unique about the Vsnap feature? |
| A12. |
Vsnap is a true space efficient copy of a source volume. It does not require the pre-allocation of space like many other vendors. It will only add and consume space as needed. Additionally, all snapshots on the EVA can be mounted to and have read/writable access. |
 |
| Q13. |
