  How to Register

Initial installation

Your Data Protector Express purchase includes a License Key Entitlement Certificate. On this is an Order Number that is exchanged for the license. It is recommended you visit www.webware.hp.com to register and acquire the license key(s) for Data Protector Express before you start the installation. The license key(s) can then be added during installation.

If you have not acquired your license key(s) or are evaluating Data Protector Express the software can be installed with the embedded evaluation license key. This will enable Data Protector Express to operate for 60 days from the time of installation. After 60 days, Data Protector Express will stop functioning. The license key(s) can be entered any time during or after the 60 day evaluation period. All jobs and setting created during the evaluation period are maintained.

Adding more machines to the Data Protector Express Backup Domain

Additional machines are enabled for protection by adding the required number of license keys. Each purchase of an additional license includes a License Key Entitlement Certificate. On this is an Order Number that is exchanged for the license at www.webware.hp.com. Adding this license key enables additional machines for protection. Note that after 60 days from the initial installation, newly added machines cannot operate in evaluation mode and require a license key.
