First time installation All Data Protector Express components need to be registered with the HP License Key Delivery Service to acquire a permanent license key. This is a quick and easy web-based process. It is recommended to register and acquire the permanent license key for the Data Protector Express Backup Server (and any Data Protector Express options purchased) before you start the installation. The HP License Key Delivery Service is at www.webware.hp.com.
The Data Protector Express Backup Server and Data Protector Express options are delivered with a paper Entitlement Certificate. This contains an Order Number that is exchanged, at the License Key Delivery Service, for the permanent license key.
If you do not enter a permanent license key for the Data Protector Express Backup Server during the installation, a 60-day evaluation license key will be installed automatically. In this case you will need to acquire and add the permanent license key within 60 days of installation to continue using Data Protector Express.
