Overview

HP Report Designer extends HP Storage Essentials Suite with powerful custom reporting capabilities that satisfy your unique business and IT needs. Based on the same flexible Java reporting technology used by the standard report component of HP Storage Essentials, HP Report Designer makes it easy to design, build, and deliver custom reports that empower business and IT users with actionable business intelligence.

HP Report Designer provides an intuitive design environment that lets you tap into the rich database of heterogeneous storage information collected and maintained by HP Storage Essentials and HP Systems Insight Manager. The module facilitates creation of sophisticated reports for storage consolidation, capacity planning, information lifecycle management (ILM), asset management, chargeback, root cause analysis, change management, SLA management, and other IT initiatives.

Tables, cross-tabs, charts, invoices, forms, and sub-reports can be quickly designed using intuitive interfaces and tools. A visual environment enables you to view reports as they are being developed, while the report inspector provides one click access to properties for all report objects. With built-in report templates and the ability to customize or create new templates, you can quickly create production-quality reports for distribution across a single department or the entire enterprise.
