Q1. What storage platforms are supported for external copy operations?
A1. HP StorageWorks Modular Smart Array 1000 is supported at 1st release with the XP 1024 and XP128. The XP12000 will be supported with Flex Copy on September 7, 2004.
Q2. How is XP Flex Copy licensed?
A2. The product is licensed based on the amount of XP Disk Array logical capacity that is mirrored to external MSA systems. License-to-use products come in 1 TB increments; with four product numbers that span a 36TB license capacity range (see XP Software Configuration Guide for more details).
Q3. How does this product compare to Hitachi's Hi Copy product?
A3. HP XP Flex Copy is functionally equivalent to Hi Copy, except for the fact that XP Flex Copy supports the MSA 1000 storage system.
Q4. What configuration and management tools are available for this product?
A4. XP Command View provides a Graphical User Interface facility for complete configuration and management of the software. XP RAID Manager, the XP host-resident agent, can also be used to execute select configuration commands for the product.
Q5. What solution interface capabilities are available for this product?
A5. XP RAID Manager, the XP host-resident agent, provides a Command Line User interface that allows for integration with 3rd party archiving application solutions.
Q6. What other XP Disk Array software products are prerequisites?
A6. XP Command View version 1.8, used for basic configuration management, is required. Command View 2.0 is required for the XP12000. XP RAID Manager (an optional, no-cost product), can be used for software scripting and is required to enable 3rd party application solutions.
