HP StorageWorks XP LUN Security Extension Software was initially introduced on the XP1024 and XP128 products. At that time it was sold as a separate software product. It was also supported as a separate software product for the XP12000 and XP10000 at their initial introduction. However, since March 2006, XP LUN Security Extension has been included with HP StorageWorks XP LUN Configuration and Security Manager Software, and is no longer available as a separate product. For the XP24000 and XP20000, the XP LUN Security Extension functionality is included with HP StorageWorks XP Array Manager Software. For the XP24000 and XP20000 the function has been renamed to Data Retention Utility. |

Hitachi LDEV Guard for Mainframe / Volume Retention Manager for Mainframe provides the data protection function for mainframes. Note that since March 2006, Hitachi LDEV Guard for Mainframe / Volume Retention Manager has been included with HP StorageWorks XP LUN Configuration and Security Manager Software, and is no longer available as a separate product. For the XP24000 and XP20000, the Hitachi LDEV Guard for Mainframe / Volume Retention Manager functionality is included with HP StorageWorks XP Array Manager Software. |
