Q1.	How is HP XP for Compatible Parallel Access Volumes Software licensed?
A1.	For the HP XP24000 and XP20000 Disk Arrays, PAV is licensed on the used capacity of PAV volumes. For the HP XP12000 and XP10000 Disk Arrays, PAV is licensed on mainframe-configured raw disk capacity of the array, plus usable mainframe-configured capacity of external storage.

Q2.	How is HP XP for Compatible Hyper PAV Software licensed?
A2.	HP XP for Compatible Hyper PAV Software is a frame-based license that covers unlimited capacity for a single XP disk array.

Q3.	Does HP XP for Compatible Hyper PAV Software have a prerequisite?
A3.	Yes. HP XP for Compatible Hyper PAV Software requires HP XP for Compatible Parallel Access Volumes Software to be installed.

Q4.	How do HP XP for Compatible Hyper PAV Software and HP XP for Compatible Parallel Access Volumes Software compare?
A4.	HP XP for Compatible Parallel Access Volumes Software includes static and dynamic PAV. With static PAV an alias has a fixed relationship to a particular base. With dynamic PAV, Workload Manager in the mainframe operating system dynamically associates a PAV base address with one or more available PAV aliases. With HP XP for Hyper PAV Software, aliases and bases are pooled, and a host can associate an alias with any base in the pool on each I/O request.
