Answers

Q1. Is HP XP Performance Advisor Software a required product purchase with a new HP XP Disk Array?
A1. No, it is not a required purchase. However, it is highly recommended because it helps you monitor and analyze the performance of your HP XP Disk Arrays.
Q2. How is HP XP Performance Advisor Software licensed?
A2. HP XP Performance Advisor Software licensing is based on the raw internal storage capacity of the XP disk array. External Storage volumes are covered for free.
Q3. If I have an older HP XP Disk array (e.g. XP1024, XP128, XP512, XP48) and I want to upgrade to a new XP Disk Array, can I receive any credit for my existing HP XP Performance Advisor Software license?
A3. Yes. When you purchase the new HP XP Disk Array you will purchase a new license for HP XP Performance Advisor for that array. If you plan to discontinue use of the older XP Disk Array, you can receive a credit for the older XP Performance Advisor license. Your sales representative will calculate this credit for you and include it on your quotation.
Q4. How is XPWatch provided?
A4. Since the release of HP XP Performance Advisor version 3.4, XPWatch has been provided free with HP XP Performance Advisor. It is located on the Support tab of the Performance Advisor GUI.
Q5. What versions of software enable the integration of HP XP Performance Advisor with HP XP Tiered Storage Manager?
A5. HP XP Performance Advisor v3.4, v3.5, v4.0 and v4.5 along with HP XP Command View AE v5.9, v6.0, v6.1, v6.2 and v6.3. XP Command View AE is a required product for HP XP Tiered Storage Manager.
Q6. What should be done if XP Performance Advisor database approaches the 320 GB limit?
A6. Beginning with XP Performance Advisor v3.5, you can move older data to an archive to free up the active database, keep the archived data for future reference, and re-import it if needed.
