Answers

Q1. What Operating Systems are supported?
A1. 32-bit: Windows Server 2003 or later. 64-bit: Windows Server 2003 R2
Q2. What is the included software for Windows Server?
A2. NTFS-compatible Symmetric Cluster File System, Distributed Lock Manager, Cluster Volume Manager (CVM), built-in High Availability Services, Matrix Manager Management Console, and Snapshot support.
Q3. What is the Matrix Server Software?
A3. The File Serving Utility is based on HP PolyServe's Matrix Server software, a shared data clustering architecture that enables all servers to see all data within the SAN. Matrix Server is comprised of the only symmetric Cluster File System (CFS) that runs on Microsoft Windows Server System, providing all the benefits of robust shared data architecture without locking IT into another operating environment such as the proprietary systems of some NAS appliances. Matrix Server's shared data cluster provides a better framework for high availability, data management and capacity scaling.
Q4. What network and storage protocols are supported?
A4. Network: Windows File Sharing (CIFS/SMB), HTTP, WebDAV, and FTP Storage: Network-attached fiber channel (FC) and iSCSI (based on Microsoft Initiator)
