| Q1. |
How is Storage Mirroring Software licensed? |
| A1. |
Because Storage Mirroring Software is host-based, a license is required for each server involved in the replication process. Licensing must include the target server (receives replication data) as well as the source (production) server. |

| Q2. |
The Storage Mirroring Application Manager now supports Exchange 2007 as well as Exchange 2000/2003, SQL 2005, and simple file setup. Does this cost extra? |
| A2. |

HP has two SKUs for virtualization. What's the difference? |
| A6. |
VMware and Microsoft Virtual Machines allow for multiple instances of the operating system to function on a single physical server.
Storage Mirroring Software for Virtual Machines runs in the guest OS and supports both the VMware and Microsoft versions. Replication and failover will be performed between virtual and/or physical instances of the will run on up to five Virtual Machines using this SKU.
Storage Mirroring Software for Virtual Infrastructure runs at the disk level on the VMware ESX Virtual Infrastructure. The replication and failover work with VMware's snapshot technology to compare data and send data changes to a second server were those changes are merged with existing data.

| Q8. |
What are the differences between Storage Mirroring Server Recovery Option and Storage Mirroring Full Server Failover feature?
|
| A8. |
First, both pieces of software enhance the recovery of servers. Server Recovery Option (SRO) will be an optional software that must have Storage Mirroring installed. Full Server Failover comes with every copy of Storage Mirroring - it is a new feature for the base software.
The Server Recovery Option that works with Storage Mirroring that collects all of the appropriate boot files, drivers, security patches, Service Pack information, and operating system files on your source server. This information is replicated to a separate centralized server. SRO helps reduce the time needed to "build" a like-server at the centralized site. Full Server Failover sets up a 1:1 server to server ratio where all data, boot files, OS files, patches, drivers are replicated and a server failover can occur within seconds. |
