Q1. What arrays are supported by XP Snapshot?
A1. XP Snapshot is a capability that is only available in the XP12000.
Q2. What hosts are supported by XP Snapshot?
A2. The first release of XP Snapshot will support open-systems and Windows servers. Support for mainframe servers is planned in a subsequent version.
Q3. What are the upper limits for XP Snapshot secondary volumes?
A3. XP Snapshot can create up to 64 secondary volumes per primary volume, and up to 8,192 secondary volumes per XP array. Compare that to up to 9 secondary volumes per primary volume, and up to 2,047 secondary volumes per XP array for XP Command View.
Q4. Does XP Snapshot support the new External Storage arrays?
A4. The first release of XP Snapshot will support only primary and secondary volumes that exist on the XP array.
Q5. Can I use XP Snapshot in conjunction with either XP Business Copy or XP Continuous Access?
A5. XP Snapshot is an integrated feature of XP Business Copy. At first release, Primary Volumes (P-VOLs) can be replicated by either XP Snapshot or XP Business Copy, but not both at the same time.
