2. What software prerequisites are there for proper implementation of XP CLX Software?
3. Is there an installation service associated with XP cluster Extension so I can ensure I have my disaster tolerant environment set up properly?

Answers

Q1. What operating systems does HP XP Cluster Extension Software support?
A1. HP XP Cluster Extension supports Windows, Linux, Solaris, and AIX. Please see the product QuickSpecs for specific version support:
http://www.hp.com/go/clxxp
Q2. What software prerequisites are there for proper implementation of XP CLX Software?
A2. HP XP Cluster Extension requires XP Continuous Access and an OS-specific cluster service software. XP CLX integrates with HP Serviceguard for Linux in Linux environments, Microsoft Cluster Service in Windows 2008 or 2003 environments, VERITAS Cluster Service in Solaris environments and HACMP AIX environments. Please see the product QuickSpecs for specific version support:
http://www.hp.com/go/clxxp
Q3. Is there an installation service associated with XP cluster Extension so I can ensure I have my disaster tolerant environment set up properly?
A3. Yes. The HP Cluster Extension Solution Implementation Service is a required custom per-event service or Statement of Work (SOW), allowing you to tailor the deployment of HP StorageWorks Cluster Extension Software, the CLX environment and your StorageWorks XP disk arrays to address the specific needs of your disaster tolerance solution environment.

This required service offers initial consultation with a trained Services consultant to ensure the E2E solution components for the CLX Solution are properly installed and configured. This service may be expanded through the custom statement of work, to include hardware installation, cluster configuration, CLX solution testing, CLX dependency SW installation and configuration and associated documentation. To address the needs of your business, your customized SOW may also expand to include a documented design plan, which may encompass project management, design activities, tailored implementation, testing, and an orientation session.

To ensure smooth upfront remote support beyond one year bundled packaged telephone support, and one step contract renewal opportunity, it is strongly recommended that one of the following remote care pack services are purchased at the time of product and CLX Implementation Service purchase. Aligning the duration of software support contracts with the duration of HP Server and/or HP array support contracts is recommended.
