Q1. What kinds of partitions are available?
A1. There are two kinds of partitions, Cache Logical Partitions (CLPRs) and Storage Management Logical Partitions (SLPRs). You can assign cache memory and disk parity groups to CLPRs. And you can assign host ports and CLPRs to SLPRs.
Q2. What HP XP Disk Arrays are supported?
A2. XP24000 and XP20000: XP Disk/Cache Partition is included with HP XP Array Manager Software.

XP12000 and XP10000: XP Disk/Cache Partition is a separately sold product.

Q3. How many partitions can be created in an HP XP Disk Array?
A3. XP24000: 32 CLPRs, 32 SLPRs
XP20000: 16 CLPRs, 16 SLPRs
XP12000: 32 CLPRs, 32 SLPRs
XP10000: 16 CLPRs, 16 SLPRs
Q4. If partitioning is used, must the entire array be subdivided into partitions?
A4. No. Create as few partitions as you need. The rest of the XP disk array will behave as it does in a non-partitioned environment.
