It allows you to non-disruptively migrate HP StorageWorks XP Disk Array data between tiers of storage while your applications remain on line. You can match key user quality of service requirements, like cost, performance and data protection level, to the storage attributes of HP XP Disk Array controlled storage. HP XP Tiered Storage Manager Software works not only with internal HP XP Disk Array data, but also with External Storage, such as an MSA or EVA, connected to the HP XP Disk Array.
HP XP Tiered Storage Manager Software saves you time and eliminates disruption when you need to migrate ageing data to another tier of storage. With this product you can move the data while it remains online and ready for access. It improves data manageability and is perfect for applications which cannot be stopped or even paused. HP XP Tiered Storage Manager allows you to set up a migration plan that can be implemented immediately or can be scheduled to occur at a more convenient time. You can migrate data based on a variety of storage attributes such as volume type, capacity, emulation type, RAID level and disk type. And you can create migration groups composed of volumes that have similar demand on storage resources.
Management of HP XP Tiered Storage Manager Software is through the HP XP Command View AE Software GUI, ensuring ease of use and user-friendly migration setup and processes.
