What tape drives does the 5U Rack-mount Kit support?
The StorageWorks 5U Rack-mount Kit supports the following full-height tape drives:
LTO: Ultrium 230 and Ultrium 460
SDLT: SDLT 220 and SDLT 320
DLT: DLT 40/80
The 5U Rack-mount Kit also supports older Single-End SCSI DLT tape drives including the DLT 35/70 and DLT 20/40 - please check the Options list of your installed server to ensure compatibility with these drives before installing.

The 5U Rack-mount Kit ships with rails ready for installation into HP ProLiant 9000 and 10000 series racks. However, the Alpha Rail Kit (254795-001) must be purchased separately and configured with the 5U Rack-mount Kit for installation into Alpha M-Series racks.

The 5U Rack-mount Kit ships with one power cord, two internal SCSI bus cables, and two HD 68-pin to VHDCI external SCSI cables.

How can I increase the number of internal SCSI buses from two to four, allowing up to four drives to stream simultaneously?
Two optional LVD Cable kits are available (please check "Options" section on Specifications) that provide 2 additional internal and external SCSI cables. These cables can be easily installed to provide up to two additional SCSI buses.

Can the 5U Rack-mount kit be installed into HP Rack System/E Cabinets?
Yes. However the Alpha Rail Kit covered in question #3 must be used to install the rack-mount kit.
