All three variants are based on the same platform. The 4/64 SAN Switch Power Pack includes the 4/64 SAN Switch (base) with 32 active ports and a full suite of software products. The 4/64 SAN Switch (full) includes a 4/64 SAN Switch with 64 active ports. The 4/64 SAN Switch (base) includes a SAN Switch 4/64 with 32 active ports. An optional 16 port upgrade license is available to activate ports. |

The 4/64, 4/32, 2/16V, 2/16N, 2/8V, 2/32 SAN Switches, and 2/128 SAN Director and 4/256 SAN Director utilize a version of 5.1x firmware. The SAN Switch 4/64 and 4Gb SAN Switch for HP p-Class blade utilize a version of 5.0x firmware. However, the B-Series switch line also includes the MSA SAN switch 2/8 (Embedded in the MSA 1000) which runs 3.2x firmware. Legacy SAN switches (2/8-EL, 2/8, 2/16 & 2/16-El), all utilize version 3.2x firmware. |

The 4/64 SAN Switch is an important component of a true end to end 4Gb storage solution. 4Gb HBAs and 4Gb storage arrays must also be in place for a complete 4Gb solution. Initially, The 4/64 SAN Switch can transfer data at 4Gbps to another 4/64 SAN Switch. |
