Business Value
A no compromise, stress-free storage solution for enterprise organizations that demand always-on data availability, seamless scalability, and cost-savings through data center consolidation.
HP StorageWorks XP Command View Advanced Edition software provides centralized, web-based management for XP disk arrays. It reduces your total cost of ownership by enabling collaboration among global team members and by increasing your storage administrators’ efficiency. It consists of a user friendly GUI, SMI-S provider, host agents, and a command line interface (CLI).
Command View XP AE provides Fibre Channel diagnostics that deliver early warning of Fibre Channel degradation as well as graphical mapping for quick disk drive location. Command View’s common user interface not only reduces training time, but also provides a centralized launch point for all XP management applications—reducing the need for storage administrators to train on multiple dissimilar point solutions. SNMP scripts are included for integration into the leading network management frameworks including HP OpenView, Computer Associates Unicenter, Tivoli Net view, and BMC Patrol.
HP StorageWorks XP LUN Configuration and Security Manager combines LUN configuration and security into a single, integrated, and flexible product solution. Now you can add and delete paths, create custom-sized volumes, and configure foolproof LUN security to provide controlled, secure access to data stored on your XP disk array—preventing unauthorized servers from accessing your data. It also configures arrays to meet changing storage requirements and enables users to share a single Fibre Channel array among multiple servers.
HP Storage Essentials Enterprise Edition delivers integrated heterogeneous functionality for SAN management, storage resource management, provisioning, and application infrastructure monitoring. It includes a management console and portfolio of valued-added modules. All modules share the same Web services architecture for anytime, anywhere management. The suite has integration with HP System Insight Manager and HP OpenView Operations. HP Storage Essentials increases administrator efficiency via automation, visualization, and simplification to enable management of storage growth. It increases utilization to reduce cost of storage. Quality of storage service increases due to application infrastructure monitoring and ability to align storage tiers with user needs. Standards based architecture; customized reporting and interface to integrate into existing environment protects investment.
HP StorageWorks XP Business Copy creates full copies and snapshots. Using the snapshot capability, Business Copy XP can make nearly instantaneous copies of data from XP arrays for development, testing or backup, without ever interrupting your online production.
Business Copy XP also creates and maintains RAID-protected full copy volumes without interrupting access to the source volumes. Because it makes asynchronous copy volume updates, copies stay up-to-date without affecting I/O response times for your primary applications. These copy volumes can at any time be "split" from their corresponding source volume and accessed by other applications. So, while copy volumes are utilized, primary applications can continue to access and update their source volumes as needed, without taking a performance hit. By creating multiple online copies of critical business data without disrupting your business, Business Copy XP lets you get the most from your data.
HP StorageWorks XP Continuous Access Software are high availability data and disaster recovery tools enabling data mirroring between local and remote XP disk arrays. They provide continuous availability for your important data and protect you from catastrophic failures. Continuous Access delivers host-independent, array-based remote replication for a wide range of open systems environments.
With seamless integration into a full spectrum of remote mirroring-based solutions, Continuous Access can be deployed for activities ranging from data migration to high-availability server clustering.
HP StorageWorks Continuous Access XP Synchronous provides synchronous mirroring; HP StorageWorks Continuous Access XP Asynchronous, and HP StorageWorks Continuous Access XP Journal provide Asynchronous replication.
HP StorageWorks Continuous Access XP Synchronous provides synchronous mirroring; HP StorageWorks Continuous Access XP Asynchronous, and HP StorageWorks Continuous Access XP Journal provide Asynchronous replication.
HP StorageWorks XP External Storage allows you to connect external storage devices on XP10000 and XP12000 disk arrays. Supported devices include HP MSA, EVA, and XP; EMC, HDS, and IBM disk arrays. External Storage XP allows you to provision an XP solution to optimize return on IT investment—letting you focus high-performance/high availability native XP capacity against your most mission-critical data while hosting less critical datasets on cost optimized disk array subsystems.
External Storage XP provides significant consolidation scalability—up to 32 Petabytes of external storage ‘behind’ a single XP12000. Coupled with the significant cost advantages that external storage systems can provide, you can confidently scale your XP Disk Array solution to simplify configuration complexity and reduce ongoing management cost. External Storage XP is compatible with a wide range of XP disk array software tools: Business Copy XP for local replication and Auto LUN XP for performance.
HP StorageWorks XP Storage Disk/Cache Partition allows resources on a single XP Array to be divided into separately configurable and manageable array “domains” focused to meet critical host requirements. A single XP can, in effect, be provisioned as a number of distinct subsystems that are independently and securely managed. Partitions can be made on the cache, disks, and ports. Each partition retains the high performance and superb availability benefits of an XP.
HP StorageWorks XP Cluster Extension software offers protection against system downtime from a variety of faults, failures, and disasters. It enables flawless integration of an XP disk array’s remote mirroring capabilities with high-availability server clustering solutions, including clusters covering metropolitan distances and based on SUN, AIX, Linux, and Microsoft systems (similar functionality exists for HP-UX servers with HP cluster software). This extended-distance solution allows for more robust disaster recovery topologies as well as automatic failover, failback and redirection of mirrored pairs for fast recovery. A host-based utility, Cluster Extension XP requires Continuous Access XP Software.
