HP StorageWorks XP Array Manager Software improves efficiency and data security by allowing you to manage volumes, allocate disk array resources, control access to the data, and protect the data on an HP StorageWorks XP24000 Disk Array. Configure and manage data volumes for most effective use of the XP Disk Array. Partition array resources to isolate applications, reserve cache memory for the most frequently accessed data and control host port usage so that the most critical applications have the port bandwidth they need. Configure security to prevent unauthorized servers from accessing the data. Create read-only volumes for archiving and data retention, and then securely delete the data when it is no longer needed.

It proposes a migration plan and estimates how much your storage performance will improve when it's done. HP XP Auto LUN Software lets you evaluate disk array usage and determine whether resources are overloaded or out of balance. Use up to 90 days of stored historical data to spot trends and create up-to-the-minute reports. If resources are overloaded, HP XP Auto LUN Software will create a plan to move volumes, and then stands by for your approval to make changes.

HP StorageWorks XP Business Continuity Manager Software enhances productivity and business continuity by centralizing and simplifying management of XP disk array data replication functionality in mainframe environments. Business Continuity Manager manages Hitachi ShadowImage for Mainframe, Hitachi TrueCopy for Mainframe, Hitachi TrueCopy Async for Mainframe, and Hitachi Universal Replicator for Mainframe. By automating configuration and disaster recovery tasks, Business Continuity Manger reduces human error, saves time, and improves data availability. Business Continuity Manager supports 2 Data Center and 3 Data Center configurations that create copies of critical data at remote sites, allowing the business to continue operations even if the primary site is shut down.

HP StorageWorks XP Business Copy Software is a local replication solution that provides data copies within a single HP StorageWorks XP Disk Array, or in storage systems attached to an XP Disk Array as external storage. HP XP Business Copy Software uses array-based mirror and snapshot technologies that do not interfere with host-level operations, allowing customers to spend time conducting business rather than worrying about how backup and testing operations will impact systems.

HP StorageWorks XP Compatible Extended Remote Copy (XRC) Software provides disaster protection and data migration capability for data stored on an HP StorageWorks XP Disk Array by implementing IBM mainframe compatible asynchronous remote replication. XRC provides the same functionality as IBM Extended Remote Copy (now called IBM TotalStorage z/OS Global Mirror), and is compatible with System Data Mover (SDM) mainframe software. When data is written to the local XP disk array, XRC temporarily stores a timestamped copy of it in a sidefile. SDM in one of the mainframe hosts asynchronously reads the sidefile data from the local XP disk array and then writes the data to the remote disk array.

HP StorageWorks XP Compatible Parallel Access Volumes Software (PAV) enables high performance concurrent access of mainframe volumes by permitting a mainframe host system to issue multiple I/O requests in parallel to individual logical devices within the HP StorageWorks XP Disk Array. Without PAV, mainframe systems can initiate only one I/O request to device at a time, and must wait for the I/O to complete before starting another I/O request to the same device. Utilizing alias addresses that all point to the same device as the base address, PAV enables the host system to start several I/O requests simultaneously to the same device, thus greatly improving performance.

HP XP External Storage Software provides these benefits by giving storage administrators the ability to access, monitor, and manage data residing on a variety of different disk arrays as if all of the data were residing on an HP StorageWorks XP Disk Array.

HP StorageWorks XP FlashCopy Mirroring Software enhances data availability for mainframe data and improves productivity by providing IBM FlashCopy compatible point-in-time copies within an HP StorageWorks XP Disk Array. As soon as a copy is created, it becomes available for use. The copy can be either virtual or physical. If a virtual copy is specified, it remains a pointer-based copy that only saves the changes from the original. However, if a physical copy is specified, a full copy will be completed in the background while both the source and the copy remain available for access.

HP StorageWorks XP Provisioning Manager is a plug-in launched from HP StorageWorks XP Command View Advanced Edition which facilitates integration and management of multiple HP StorageWorks XP Disk Arrays as a single, logical storage pool. Its easy to use, intuitive, user interface allows you to create, expand, and delete file systems and device files on heterogeneous hosts.

HP StorageWorks XP Replication Monitor Software is a plug-in application for HP StorageWorks XP Command View Advanced Edition Software that monitors and graphically displays local and remote replication pairs. It provides centralized management of replication applications, decreases storage administration complexity, increases productivity, and improves service levels by providing a single enterprise view of the replication environment. It allows you to view replication status in real time for optimal up to date information. In addition, HP XP Replication Monitor Software also provides early warning of impending problems.

HP StorageWorks XP Tiered Storage Manager Software is a plug-in application for HP StorageWorks XP Command View Advanced Edition Software. It allows you to non-disruptively migrate HP StorageWorks XP Disk Array data between tiers of storage while your applications remain on line. You can match key user quality of service requirements, like cost, performance and data protection level, to the storage attributes of HP XP Disk Array controlled storage. HP XP Tiered Storage Manager Software works not only with internal HP XP Disk Array data, but also with External Storage, such as an MSA or EVA, connected to the HP XP Disk Array.

The Ultrium 448c is the first HP StorageWorks tape product developed exclusively for the BladeSystem c-Class enclosures.

The HP StorageWorks 4/32B SAN Switch is a 4Gb B-series Fibre Channel switch and is the successor to the 4/32 SAN Switch. The 4/32B SAN Switch consumes 20 percent less power than the 4/32 SAN Switch and generates less heat so it requires less cooling resulting in reduced Total Cost of Ownership. It provides excellent value as the foundation for a small SAN or as an edge switch in a larger core-to-edge enterprise SAN. It delivers 16, 24 or 32 active 4Gb ports in a 1U footprint and has three models - 4/32B SAN Switch Power Pack with 32 active ports and value added software, 4/32B SAN Switch with 32 active ports (Full), 4/32B SAN Switch with 16 active ports (Base). An optional 8 port license scales the number of active ports to 24 or up to 32 ports.

· Data Protector Express 3.5 includes the capability to encrypt backup data. This means that if a tape is lost in transit it is safe because third parties cannot access the data on the tape. HP Data Protector Express Single Server Edition software is easy to install, easy to use and easy to manage backup and recovery software. It is exclusively for delivery with HP StorageWorks tape drives, HP StorageWorks tape autoloaders, the HP StorageWorks D2D Backup System and the HP StorageWorks VLS1000i family of virtual tape libraries. This powerful software is suitable for organizations without dedicated IT or disaster recovery staff because it is designed for true ease-of-use. It protects a single Windows, Linux or NetWare server by backing it up to a HP tape product, disk and/or CD/DVD. Also included with Data Protector Express Single Server Edition is the HP Data Protector Express Bare Metal Disaster Recovery Option software.
