HP StorageWorks D2D2500 Backup System provides consolidated, disk-based data protection in an intelligent self-managing 1U rack-mountable solution. It integrates seamlessly into your existing environment and works with your backup software application to automate the simultaneous daily backup of up to six servers onto a single network-connected device, eliminating the management of multiple devices and reducing errors caused by tape media handling. The D2D2500 features Dynamic deduplication, which removes redundant backup data to retain up to 50x more data on the same 3 TB disk allowing data to be kept for longer to give fast access to restore lost or corrupted files.

HP StorageWorks D2D4000 Backup System provides consolidated, disk-based data protection for small and medium size data centers in an intelligent self-managing 2U rack-mountable solution. Dynamic deduplication removes redundant backup data to retain up to 50x more data on the same raw 4.5 TB or 9 TB disk, allowing backups to be kept for longer to give fast access to restore files and an affordable way to store more backup on disk. With speeds of more than 288 GB/hour over iSCSI or 4 Gb Fibre Channel interface you can significantly reduce your backup window.

• 2U rack-mountable D2D Backup System with either 4.5 TB or 9 TB raw disk capacity.

The HP StorageWorks 6000 Virtual Library System is a single-node solution that offers fast data protection and backup in complex SAN environments and scales in performance and capacity to 600 MB/sec and 106 TB of useable storage with 2:1 hardware compression (VLS6600 only). The VLS6000 now supports the licensing of Accelerated deduplication which retains up to 50 times more data readily available on disk. Accelerated deduplication delivers fast backup performance since the deduplication process does not impact the backup.

• The VLS6000 now supports the licensing of Accelerated deduplication (initially on VLS6600 only – and in September 2008 VLS6200 will also be supported).
• The VLS6000 will support LTO-4 tape emulation (without encryption) in September 2008.
• The VLS6000 supports up to 10,000 slots and 32,000 cartridges (only when using the VLS firmware version 3.0 required for Accelerated deduplication).

The HP StorageWorks 9000 Virtual Library System is a multi-node solution that offers industry-leading performance and easily scales in performance and capacity up to 4800 MB/sec and up 1280 TB of useable storage with 2:1 hardware compression. For fast data protection and backup in complex SAN environments, the VLS9000 now supports the licensing of Accelerated deduplication which retains up to 50 times more data readily available on disk. Accelerated deduplication delivers fast backup performance since the deduplication process does not impact the backup.

• The VLS9000 supports the licensing of Accelerated deduplication.
• The VLS9000 supports 1 TB disk drives providing a 33% capacity increase in the same footprint.
• The VLS9000 supports twice the number of storage arrays. Previously an 8 node system could only support 8 arrays. This is now increased to a total of 16 arrays (2 arrays per node).
• The VLS9000 will support LTO-4 tape emulation (without encryption) in September 2008.
• Capacity for the VLS9000 has increased to 1280 TB with the combination of 1 TB disk drives and the ability to support 16 arrays per system.
• The VLS9000 supports up to 10,000 slots and 32,000 cartridges (only when using the VLS firmware version 3.0 required for Accelerated deduplication).

The HP StorageWorks 12000 Virtual Library System EVA Gateway offers fast data protection and backup in complex SAN environments for customers with HP StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Array (EVA) installations. It is a multi-node (up to 8 nodes) gateway solution for the EVA that offers industry-leading performance and easily scales in performance and capacity to 4800 MB/sec and 1080 TB of useable storage with 2:1 hardware compression. The VLS12000 EVA Gateway supports the licensing of Accelerated deduplication which retains up to 50 times more data readily available on disk. Accelerated deduplication delivers fast backup performance since the deduplication process does not impact the backup.
