Expanding the power of having multiple HP StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Array (EVA) units, the HP StorageWorks 12000 Virtual Library System EVA Gateway accelerates backup performance in complex SAN environments while improving overall reliability. Integrating seamlessly into existing backup applications and processes by emulating popular tape libraries and tape drives, the VLS12000 EVA Gateway matches the existing data protection environment, removing the need to change backup software or policies. Using HP EVAs as the storage pool, ease of use is maintained throughout the system. By emulating multiple tape drives simultaneously, more backup jobs can be done in parallel resulting in reduced backup times. And since the data resides on disk, single file restores are exceptionally fast.

• Supports a directly attached LTO tape drive: Data can now be copied or exported from the emulated cartridges on the D2D Backup System to a physical tape cartridge on a locally attached tape drive.
• New models available: The D2D110 Backup System with a built-in HP Ultrium 448 SAS Tape Drive (LTO-2) and the D2D120 Backup System with a built-in HP Ultrium 920 SAS Tape Drive (LTO-3).
• Includes a mail slot: The D2D Backup System’s autoloader emulation now includes support for a mail slot, allowing your backup application to export cartridges from the "virtual" autoloader to physical tape and delete the data from the D2D Backup System.

• Thin Provisioning - HP StorageWorks XP Thin Provisioning Software allows you to reduce costs, accelerate your return on investment, and reduce the environmental impact of your XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array by supplying disk storage capacity to your applications from a pool of virtualized storage and by automatically allocating physical capacity as needed. Configure all of the capacity you will need for your XP24000/XP20000 in the future, but only buy the capacity you need today.
• 300 GB 15K FC Disk Drive – The XP24000/XP20000/XP12000/XP10000 disk arrays now support a higher performing 300 GB disk drive. This drive offers improved performance at a lower price point per gigabyte.

SAP Adaptive Computing Controller (ACC) provides the SAP administrator the capability to move SAP instance from one physical host to another within the SAP environment. By default the ACC can move Network file systems but not fiber attached storage resources.This extension to Storage Essentials (SE) will enable the SAP ACC to also move fiber attached storage resources from one physical host to another.
