Overview

The HP StorageWorks 4/256 SAN Director and the HP StorageWorks 4/256 SAN Director Power Pack provide a high performance, highly reliable, and flexible connectivity platform supporting the most demanding mission critical data center applications. With up to 384 ports of connectivity in a single domain, the 4/256 SAN Director offers flexible scalability for large core-to-edge SAN architectures. The accelerated 4Gb/s redundant processors and new advance routing enable the 4/256 SAN director to deliver next generation performance with faster fabric services and unique investment protection. The 4/256 SAN Director hardware and software architectures support “five nines” availability with hot-swappable FRUs and redundant central processors. Reliability and availability features ensure non-disruption when upgrading hardware and software.

The 4/256 SAN Director Power Pack includes the 4/256 Director switch with value added management software. The new director lowers the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of deploying and operating SAN infrastructures. With more than twice the port density of previous directors, the 4/256 delivers more efficient use of expensive data center floor space. The director is 1, 2, or 4Gb/s auto-sensing capable and protects customer investment by being fully backward compatible with the entire B-series family of fabric switches and director switches.

What's New
