Customers will use this switch as a standalone fabric switch, especially for medium-sized businesses and departmental SANs. They will also use it in dual stacked configurations to provide higher port count and redundancy on smaller SANs up to 64 ports. Larger enterprises will use it as a lower cost per port server aggregation switch, such as in the top of racks within data centers to reduce cabling and allow attachment to Directors at the fabric core. |
